Tracy Red-Light Safety Program Starts Issuing Warnings Today

by | Feb 21, 2025 | News Releases

The Tracy Police Department is pleased to announce that its new Red-Light Traffic Safety Program is operational today and will begin issuing warnings for anyone caught running a red light in several high-risk locations. The program will begin with the activation of the red-light camera at the intersection of 11th Street and Corral Hollow Road, with additional cameras being rolled out as construction is completed at other intersections.

Over the coming weeks, six red light cameras will be placed in several directions along the following intersections:

  • Tracy Boulevard and 11th Street
  • International Parkway and West Schulte Road
  • Naglee Road and Grant Line Road

Vehicles caught running a red light during the warning period will receive a notice in the mail alerting them to their illegal act and reminding them about the importance of staying alert.  After a 30-day warning period, the program will begin issuing citations to violators. After the warning period ends, fines for illegal red-light running will be sent to the vehicle’s registered owner. The fine amount will be included in the citation.

The City of Tracy contracted with Verra Mobility, a leader in speed safety technology, to administer this safety program. The cameras will capture images of vehicle license plates and send them through secure video. Personnel from the Tracy Police Department will verify each infraction before a fine is issued.
