Records Unit

The Tracy Police Department’s Records Unit manages criminal records, connects community members with personnel and units to help with specific issues, and provides support to our officers.

Records personnel make computer entries into local, state, and federal law enforcement databases. They also process all warrants, file criminal complaints with the district attorney, and track arson and sex registrants.

8 am – 4 pm

The Records Unit is closed on weekends and city-observed holidays.

Permits and Licenses

You must come to the Tracy PD Records Unit to complete the application process.  If you submit an application online but do not complete the application process within 10 days of submission, your application will be deleted.

Permits are processed by appointment only. To schedule an appointment to apply or renew one of the above permits, please click here.

**Rotational Tow Company applications must be reviewed and approved by the Tracy Police Department Traffic Unit prior to scheduling an appointment with the Records Unit.

Post Storage Hearing Form

REPOSSESSED VEHICLE

If your vehicle is repossessed, your bank requires you to first come to the agency that has jurisdiction where the vehicle was repossessed to pay an administrative fee. This is a $15 fee. After you pay the fee, you then take the original receipt to where the vehicle is being held to get your vehicle back and to show you are in good standing with the lien holder. See government code sections 26751 and 41612.

The fee must be paid in person at the Tracy Police Department.

Citations

PARKING CITATIONS

  • Pay a Parking Citation

You can pay a parking citation at the Tracy Police Department or online by clicking here.

  •  Dispute a Parking Citation

Parking citations must be disputed within 21 days of the issue date pursuant to Vehicle Code 40215(a).

  •  Set up a payment plan for a Parking Citation over $100.00.
    • You must come into the Tracy Police Department to sign up for a payment plan.

 TRAFFIC CITATIONS

  • Traffic Citation sign-off

The Tracy Police Department charges a fee to sign off on correctable citations written by agencies other than the Tracy Police Department.

California Highway Patrol, located at 1175 E. Pescadero Ave, Tracy, CA  95304, will sign off all correctable traffic citations for free.

Correctable violations for 16028(a) VC – Proof of Insurance can only be signed off by the Clerk of Court pursuant to 16028(e) VC.

  • Payments for Administrative Citations can be made in person at the Tracy Police Department Records Unit. You can also mail a check or money order, made payable to the City of Tracy to: Tracy Police Department, 1000 Civic Center Dr., Tracy, CA 95376, Attn: Records

SEALING OF ARREST RECORDS

RELEASE OF JUVENILE RECORDS

Criminal Juvenile records can only be released as outlined in the San Joaquin County T.N.G order.

If you want to petition the San Joaquin County Court – Juvenile Division to release the records to you, you must complete the form below and submit it to the Juvenile Justice Center.
