Tracy PD Responds to Student Hit by a Vehicle Near Kimball High School

On Thursday, October 24, 2024, at about 4:09 PM, the Tracy Police Department Communication Center received reports of a pedestrian that had been hit by a vehicle in front of John C. Kimball High School.  When officers arrived, they located a male juvenile Kimball High student who had been struck by a vehicle driven by another juvenile student in the area of South Lammers Road and Jaguar Run.

Personnel from the South San Joaquin County Fire Authority and American Medical Response (AMR) arrived shortly after to take over providing medical first aid. The student was then transported to an area hospital for further treatment for the major injuries sustained due to the collision. At this time, the student remains hospitalized and is in stable condition as he recovers.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

As students conclude their week on campus, the Tracy Unified School District have counselors, along with the Tracy Police Department’s therapy dog, Hope, available for any students and staff who may be having a hard time following the incident.

The Tracy Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit was notified and responded to the scene. At this time, the collision remains under investigation by the Tracy Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
