On January 25, 2023, at about 1:13 am, the Tracy Police Department (TPD) Communications Center received reports of shots fired in the 900 block of Peerless Court. Upon arrival of TPD Patrol Officers, one victim was located, who succumbed to his injuries and passed away on scene. Detectives from the General Investigations Unit (GIU) were notified and responded to continue the investigation.
Detectives from GIU are working on collecting video footage from nearby residences who have security cameras and are actively contacting witnesses to gather information to identify the suspect.
Currently, the incident is believed to be an isolated shooting, without risk to the greater Tracy community.
