Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.)

D.A.R.E. was started in 1983 in the City of Los Angeles. The program was originally taught in fifty schools. It is now taught in forty countries. The D.A.R.E. program in Tracy is taught in 27 schools and approximately 80 classrooms annually.

D.A.R.E. is a ten-week program that teaches fifth-grade students about the consequences of drugs, how to resist peer pressure, how to deal with bullying, and much more. The students also participate in several community service projects. These projects include monthly clean-up days, donating food to Brighter Christmas, donating clothing to Interfaith Ministries, and tutoring younger students just to name a few.
