Tracy PD Responds To Two Children Involved In a Major Injury Collision On Halloween

On Friday, October 31, 2025, at about 8:52 PM, the Tracy Police Department Communication Center received multiple 9-1-1 reports of pedestrians hit by a vehicle on South Tracy Boulevard near Rockport Drive.  

When officers arrived, they located the two children, a boy and a girl, who had been hit by a vehicle while out trick-or-treating. Both children sustained serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to an area hospital. At this time, both children remain hospitalized in stable condition as they recover from their injuries. 

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. 

We know this incident has deeply affected our community on what should have been a night of celebration. Our thoughts and well wishes are with the children and their family as they recover from this incident. 

The Tracy Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit was notified and responded to the scene. The collision remains under investigation by the Tracy Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
