Tracy Police Department Investigates Homicide at Local Park

On April 21, 2023, at about 9:31 pm, the Tracy Police Department (TPD) Communications Center received reports of shots fired in the area of North Central Avenue and First Street. Upon the arrival of TPD Patrol Officers located the victim, identified as Khyrei Currie-Ingram (23 years old from Tracy) in the 100 block of East First Street.  The victim was treated for his injuries at the scene by South San Joaquin County Fire Authority and American Medical Response personnel before being transported to an area hospital. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital during medical treatment.

Upon further investigation, TPD Patrol Officers located evidence related to the incident in the area of a local park, located in the 100 block of Central Avenue. Detectives from the General Investigations Unit (GIU) were notified and have taken over the investigation.

This incident is believed to be an isolated shooting, without risk to the greater Tracy community.  This is the second homicide in the City of Tracy this year.
