by , | Dec 16, 2024 | News Releases

On Friday, December 13, 2024, around 5:45 a.m., Tracy Police Patrol Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at Star’s Casino, located at 3170 Naglee Road. Employees reported that an adult male, dressed in all black, and armed with a firearm took a large sum of money before running from the business.

To assist officers in locating the involved individual, officers deployed an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), also known as a drone, to search the area, leading to officers to finding the suspect running through a nearby property. Officers set up a perimeter and located the suspect hiding in a drainage ditch through the use of UAS thermal imaging technology.  Following a short negotiation, the suspect, Joseph Just (34 years old from Antioch), surrendered himself to officers.  A replica firearm and a large amount of cash was recovered in the area.

Just was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail for 211 PC – robbery.

At this time, the investigation is ongoing. If you have any information related to this incident, contact the Tracy Police Department at (209) 831-6550. To make an anonymous tip, contact Tracy Crime Stoppers by calling (209) 831-4847 or by texting “TIPTPD” and your message to CRIMES (274637).
