Tracy PD Investigates Hit and Run Collision

UPDATE: We are saddened to report the victim of this hit-and-run incident, 38-year-old Akminder Singh of Tracy, CA, succumbed to his injuries yesterday.  Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim during this incredibly difficult time.

The Tracy Police Department is committed to bringing justice to those responsible for this tragedy. Our officers are working tirelessly to investigate and apprehend the individual(s) involved in this incident.  We ask that anyone with information about this incident, no matter how small, come forward to assist in our investigation. Together, we can seek justice for the victim and their loved ones.

On Saturday August 17, 2024, around 8:30 pm the Tracy Police Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on W. Grant Line Rd. near O’Hara Dr.  Upon arrival, officers found an adult male Tracy resident in the roadway with major injuries from the collision.  The vehicle that struck the pedestrian reportedly fled the scene west on W. Grant Line Rd.  Currently, we do not have a definitive description of the suspect vehicle.

Emergency medical personnel from South San Joaquin County Fire Authority and American Medial Response treated the male on scene and transported him to a local hospital where he is still listed in critical condition.
