City of Tracy Animal Shelter Offers Free Adoptions as Part of First-Ever California Adopt-a-Pet Day on June 1

by | May 29, 2024 | News Releases

The City of Tracy Animal Services is proud to announce its participation in the first-ever California Adopt-a-Pet Day on June 1, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Tracy Animal Shelter, located at 2375 Paradise Road. This statewide initiative will feature over 170 California animal welfare organizations offering free adoptions at their shelters or in their communities.

During this special event, every adopted pet will come fully prepared to join their new family, with each animal being spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and defleaed. This comprehensive care ensures that all pets are ready to start their new lives in loving homes.

Brittany Pasquale, Animal Services Manager, expressed the team’s enthusiasm for this groundbreaking event. “Tracy Animal Services is extremely excited to participate in the first-ever California Adopt-A-Pet Day event! With the critical times of shelters being inundated with healthy stray dog intakes and kitten season now upon us, events and awareness such as these help place pets into new loving homes. Please come and see the amazing fur friends, both feline and canine, who are awaiting their next adventure!”

Adopt-a-Pet Day is a perfect opportunity for community members to find a new furry companion while supporting the vital work of local shelters. Whether you are looking for a playful kitten or a loyal dog, Tracy Animal Services invites everyone to visit and discover the joy of adopting a pet.

California Adopt-a-Pet Day is organized by the California Animal Welfare Association (CalAnimals), the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), and the San Francisco SPCA, aiming to raise awareness about pet adoption and make it more accessible across the state. This initiative reflects a powerful partnership committed to promoting the human-animal bond and helping animals find loving homes.
