Tracy Police Department Arrest Suspects Linked to 2023 Homicide at a Local Park

After an extensive year-long investigation, the Tracy Police Department (TPD) is pleased to announce the arrest of two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of Khyrei Currie on April 21, 2023, at McDonald Park in Tracy.

Over the last year, TPD detectives have worked tirelessly on this investigation, leading to the following subjects being identified as responsible for Khyrei’s death, Juan Santos (24 years old from Tracy, CA) and Adrian Darbison (18 years old from Manteca, CA), being identified as suspects.

On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, the Tracy Police Department’s General Investigations Unit (GIU), Special Investigations Unit (SIU), Special Enforcement Team (SET), Crisis Response Unit (SWAT/CNT/Tac Dispatchers), Patrol Officers, and Crime Scene Technicians (CST), served search warrants and arrest warrants at the following residences: 2900 block of N. MacArthur Drive, 1500 block of Sephos Street in Manteca, the 1900 block of Darrah Street in Ceres, and the 1000 block of West 9th Street in Tracy.

Juan Santos was arrested in Tracy for PC 187 – Murder & PC 182 – Conspiracy, and Adrian Darbison was arrested in Manteca for PC 187 – Murder & PC 182 – Conspiracy and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.
