2019 Homicide Suspect Extradited to United States

by | Apr 29, 2024 | News Releases

On June 22, 2019, the Tracy Police Department investigated a homicide in the 100 block of W. Carlton Way where they learned Andrea Cervantes had been murdered by her boyfriend, Antonio Flores-Cuellar.  Shortly after the crime, Flores-Cuellar fled the country to Mexico.

Following an extensive investigation, the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Flores-Cuellar in Mexico on December 21, 2023, and booked him into a Mexican jail while awaiting extradition proceedings.  On Friday, April 26, 2024, Flores-Cuellar was returned to the United States by the US Marshals Service and turned over to Tracy PD detectives.  Flores-Cuellar was later booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.

The Tracy Police Department values our law enforcement partnerships, and we appreciate our Federal counterparts who we work closely with for investigations of this magnitude.  The US Marshals Service went above and beyond to bring this suspect back to the United States to face justice and bring a small amount of closure to a grieving family.  Any crime committed in the City of Tracy will be thoroughly investigated and anyone who flees will be relentlessly pursued until they are in custody.

If anyone has any information about this investigation, please contact the Tracy Police Department at (209) 831-6550.
