Tracy PD Investigates Suspicious Death on West Central Avenue

On April 7, 2024, at about 6:06 AM, the Tracy Police Department (TPD) Communication Center received a report of a possible deceased body in a drainage canal in the 100 block of West Central Avenue.

When Officers arrived, they located an unresponsive adult male who sustained traumatic injuries. Personnel from the South San Joaquin County Fire Authority (SSJCFA) and American Medical Response (AMR) responded to the scene, where the victim was tragically pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.

Detectives from the Tracy Police Department’s General Investigations Unit responded to continue the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident.  Detectives were able to identify the male as a 24-year-old man from Tracy.  With the assistance of investigators from the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Officer, and physical evidence at the scene, it was determined the subject died as a result of self-inflicted injuries.
