UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Fatal Hit and Run Crash on West Eleventh Street & El Portal Street

On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at approximately 12:30 pm, officers from the Tracy Police Department Traffic Safety Unit, with the assistance from Dublin Police Services Officers, arrested 32-year-old Natasha Jimenez-Pazo of San Leandro, CA in connection with the fatal hit and run crash that occurred on February 27, 2023, on West Eleventh Street near El Portal Street.  She was taken into custody without incident in the 7000 block of Village Parkway in Dublin, CA for the following felony charges:

PC 191.5(a) – Gross Vehicular Manslaughter While Intoxicated

PC 192(c)(1) – Vehicular Manslaughter with Gross Negligence

VC 23153(a) – Driving Under the Influence Causing Death

VC 20001(a) – Hit and Run Resulting in Death

Jimenez-Pazo was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail where she is currently held on $2,000,000.00 bail.

ORIGINAL RELEASE – On February 27, 2023, at about 6:53 PM, the Tracy Police Department Communication Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a collision involving a vehicle striking a pedestrian on West Eleventh Street near El Portal Street. Officers arrived on the scene a few minutes later and closed the roadway for personnel from South San Joaquin County Fire Authority and American Medical Response to render first aid to the pedestrian. Though life-saving measures were attempted by the first responders, the subject, an unidentified adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

Prior to the arrival of officers, the driver of the vehicle fled the area.  The Traffic Safety Unit was notified and responded to the scene. During the preliminary investigation by TPD Patrol Officers, they were able to locate video from nearby cameras to identify the involved vehicle, a white 2012 Hyundai Sonata. The involved Sonata was located in the Bay Area and has been impounded for evidence processing.
