Tracy Police Department Responds to Fatal Traffic Collision Near Tracy Boulevard and Grant Line Road

On May 26, around 12:15 AM, the Tracy Police Department (TPD) Communication Center received reports of a multi-vehicle collision near the intersection of Tracy Boulevard and Grant Line Road. Witnesses reported that one of the vehicles was engulfed in flames and that the occupants of the vehicles were trapped inside. When Officers arrived on the scene, they located two vehicles involved in a major collision, resulting in one of the vehicles being fully engulfed in flames. 

Officers quickly worked to extract the solo driver of the vehicle engulfed in flames and begin life-saving measures. Medical personnel from CENCAL Fire and EMS Authority responded and continued to provide medical aid to the driver, later identified as a 22-year-old male from Tracy; however, due to the injuries sustained in the collision, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The occupants of the second vehicle, a 19-year-old male and a 20-year-old female from Tracy, were transported to an area hospital with major injuries and are currently in stable condition. 

The Traffic Safety Unit responded and assumed the investigation into the cause of the collision.
