AI Non-Emergency Triage
The Tracy Police Department is introducing Automated Non-Emergency Triage, a new technology powered by Prepared by Axont hat helps connect community members with the appropriate resources while allowing dispatchers to focus on urgent emergencies.
When you call the department’s non-emergency line at (209) 831-6550, an AI-powered voice assistant will ask questions to understand your needs and determine the appropriate next step. The system can assist with matters such as abandoned vehicles, traffic concerns, and other issues that do not require an immediate emergency response. The assistant communicates in English, Spanish, French, Hindi, and Portuguese.
If emergency assistance is needed, your call will be transferred to the appropriate emergency call-taker. Department dispatchers will continue to monitor the non-emergency line to help ensure calls are handled appropriately, and potential emergencies are identified.
By helping manage routine calls, this technology supports the Tracy Police Department’s commitment to improving efficiency and providing responsive service to our community.
